Twirls and Twigs
If your daughter loves to play dress-up with designer picks but you find some of the clothes she wants too pricey – and not eco-savvy enough, check out Twirls and Twigs (www.twirlsandtwigs.com). Their whimsical dresses will capture your daughter’s imaginative style and their prices will make your wallet smile.
Twirls and Twigs was started by Shawna Dalton, a fashion designer who wanted to dress her daughters in eco-savvy fashion. She started turning sustainable fibers, designer leftovers and recycled cotton into outfits that little girls dream about.
As your daughter spins around one of many stores in SoCal laughing at the fun she’s having in a skirt from Twirls and Twigs’ Spring 2012 Collection, you can browse the labels and see that this brand contains recycled fibers and organic cloths free from harmful pesticides and toxic chemicals.
Twirls and Twigs offers clothing for babies, toddlers and young girls. You can wrap your newborn up in one of their recycled cotton blankets made from pre-consumer fibers and recycled cotton. Somehow this combination makes these blankets the softest, gentlest and cuddliest. Lined with ribbon, they give little ones a texture to play with that is also comforting.
Twirls and Twigs can be found online, at Nordstrom’s and various boutiques across the Southland.
