11/11/2009 | The official Route 66 Western Terminus unveiling at the Santa Monica Pier.
<p>After 83 years of history, the official West Coast end of Route 66 will be designated on November 11. Dignitaries and city officials will unveil a replica of the iconic "Trail Ends Here" Route 66 sign on the Santa Monica Pier after a processional motorcade of 66 vintage cars and motorcycles parade the final stretch of the historic route. 9 a.m., November 11.
